This Privacy Notice for habTrack ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our Android habit-tracking application ("Services").
Questions or concerns? Reading this Privacy Notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at support.habtrack@gmail.com.
What personal information do we process? Your name and email address (for your account), the habits and completion history you create in the app, your subscription status, and basic device/diagnostic data used to run and improve the Service.
Do we process any sensitive personal information? No.
Do we collect any information from third parties? No.
Who processes this data on our behalf? We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics) to run the app, and Google Play Billing to process subscription payments. We never see or store your payment card details — Google Play handles that directly.
How do we keep your information safe? Your session credentials are encrypted at rest on your device, all traffic to our backend is encrypted in transit, and we do not log sensitive values. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical measures to protect your data.
What are your rights? You can review, correct, or delete your data at any time — including a self-serve "Delete Account" option in the app's Settings that permanently removes your habits, completions, and profile.
How do you exercise your rights? Use the in-app Delete Account option, or contact us at support.habtrack@gmail.com.
When you create an account, we collect:
Content you create in the app. Using habTrack means creating your own data, which we store so the app can function and sync across your devices:
Some information is collected automatically as part of running the app:
We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent.
We process your personal information for a variety of reasons, including:
We may need to share your personal information in the following situations:
We use Firebase Analytics (Google's mobile analytics SDK) to understand basic app usage, such as how often the app is opened and which screens are used, in aggregate. This helps us improve the app. We do not currently offer a dedicated in-app control to opt out of this; if you'd like your analytics data excluded, contact us at support.habtrack@gmail.com. For more information on Google's privacy practices, see the Google Privacy & Terms page.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible, then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process — including encrypting your session credentials at rest on your device and encrypting all traffic to our backend in transit. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
We cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk.
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, regarding the Services, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services or from any security incident affecting your data, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Our Services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at support.habtrack@gmail.com so we can delete it.
You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time. If you would at any time like to review or change the information in your account or terminate your account, you can:
Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.
Withdrawing Your Consent: If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can withdraw your consent by contacting us at support.habtrack@gmail.com.
habTrack does not use advertising identifiers and does not show ads, so there is no "Limit Ad Tracking" setting that would apply. Some mobile operating systems support Do-Not-Track ("DNT")-style signals, but no uniform standard exists for native apps, so we do not currently respond to such signals.
Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws. We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Notice.
If we make material changes to this Privacy Notice, we may notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Notice frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
If you have questions or comments about this notice, you may email us at support.habtrack@gmail.com or contact us by post at:
